How long are the sessions?
The length of the sessions will vary depending on the person and the significance of the injury but most sessions start at 9:00 and finish around 15:00. Sometimes we will continue until 17:00.
Does someone else have to come with me?
Ideally, it would be great for someone who knows you well to come along and talk to Debbie. They will only be needed for about 20 minutes, they don't have to stay after that. If nobody can come, I can call them. It's important to remember that nobody can sit in the room when you are doing the assessment.
What if I can't cope with such a long day?
We understand that it can seem daunting, but we take lots of breaks, so we usually find that people cope well, and they are glad that the managed to get it all done!
What is this about an assistant doing some tests?
The tests have to be done exactly the same way each time, and sometimes I have an assistant to do them. They are always nice and helpful. I still score and interpret the tests, and write the report.
